Midland United Methodist Church has adopted a policy for the protection of children and youth involved in its ministries and for the protection of workers against frivolous accusations. This policy is known as the Safe Sanctuary Policy. Anyone working with children or youth, or being involved in any children’s or youth ministry must be Safe Sanctuary certified.

This is a two-‐step process. 1. Applicants must complete and pass a criminal background check. This must be done once every three years. 2. Applicants must be attend Safe Sanctuary training once every three years. Usually the background check is done at the same time as training.

Midland will be holding training on Thursday, June 25th at 6pm and Sunday, June 28th (following church and fellowship). If you plan to participate in ministries that involve children and youth, this training is mandatory.

There have been some recent changes to Midland’s Safe Sanctuaries Policy and it is very important that you are aware of these changes.

If you cannot attend training, please contact Sara Ludtke at [email protected] or 608-235‐7632. If you have  any questions, please contact Gloria Sears (Confidential Advisor), Sara Ludtke (Safe Sanctuaries Coordinator) or Pastor Ann.
