April Worship Schedule

During Lent, we looked at how to GROW in personal faith. For the next several weeks, the topic of worship will focus on the second line of Midland UMC’s mission statement: WITNESS joyfully and humbly through God’s grace. We will be looking at various biblical characters and how they were changed by Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Each week, one or two people who personally knew Jesus will help us understand how their desire to witness to the power of Jesus Christ changed their lives. This will be a great time to attend worship, as each week, you’ll want to know who the character will be who will share their experiences of Jesus

Sun., Apr. 6	The Last Week of Jesus’ Life" Matthew 21:1-11 Featuring "The Last Gift" drama, which gives Mary’s Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29 perspective on the events of the last week of Jesus’ life
Sun., Mar. 20	"Jesus’ last evening with his disciples" John 13:1-17, 31-35 Maundy Thursday Worship with Communion A dramatic Tenebrae (extinguishing of the lights) service featuring a drama, "Two Faces in the Shadows," in which Peter and Judas recall Jesus’ life
Fri., Mar. 21	"The Crucifixion of Jesus" John 18:1-19:42 The dramatic end of Jesus’ life will be recalled and presenting in a personally Touching worship service
Sun., Mar. 23	"The Resurrection of Jesus" John 20:1-18 Choir presenting "In Christ Alone" musical cantata
Sun., Mar. 30	Transition from GROW in personal faith to WITNESS joyfully and humbly through God’s grace For the next several weeks, we will look at some of the early disciples and how they witnessed to the power of Jesus Christ and how this can be a witnessing model for us today. "The Witness of Cleopas & the Walk to Emmaus" Luke 24:13-35

FOOD PANTRY The community’s food pantry’s shelves are nearly empty! Please consider bringing non-perishable food items to church and place your donations in the large tub in the church narthex. If you would rather make a financial contribution, your money can be given to John or Helen Gehn. If this is a ministry that you would like to be involved in, please contact John and Helen Gehn at 836-1914.
